The Human Resources Department draws the attention of the staff to the call for external applications for the following position:

MISSION

Define and lead implementation of a strategic plan related to Opco finance operations that cover accounts (payable as well as receivable), GL & Reporting, and Treasury & Cash Management. The position holder will also be responsible for ensuring that the systems and procedures are in place to support effective strategic plan implementation and conducting flawless audits.

OPERATIONAL DELIVERY

Develop, articulate and implement Finops strategic tactical plans aligned with company strategy, that will be used as the base for enhancement, monitoring and oversight over applicable requirements in Opco environment;
Drive the effective cascading of the Finops strategy into business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing strategies, and compliance with all relevant local, regional and international tax laws;
Lead the definition, implementation and improvement of Finops related policies and procedures;
Accounting Services & Reporting

Ensure establishment of robust financial accounting systems so as to provide timely, accurate and consistent inputs for management reporting
Responsible for ensuring preparation and maintenance of financial and accounting policies & procedures for the Opco
Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the books of accounts as per the standard accounting practices
Oversee Opco site support functions; Ensure operational work related to fund mobilisation, accounting, cash handling & disbursements, book keeping and timely payment to vendors are as per defined service levels
Work closely with the site support team to reconcile the bills raised by the contractors / vendors / suppliers and ensure timely payments as per the contractual conditions
Ensure minimal lead times for rendering support to the internal customers and ensure minimal process / operational breakdowns
Responsible for inter company relations and transactions relating to financial matters like fund transfer, etc.
Ensure accuracy of intercompany confirmation requests;
Ensure intercompany charge based on intercompany contract, if any or any other legally enforceable document between two Opcos;
Ensure reliability of all provision entries for the month along with corresponding basis for computation;
Lead & ensure month-end closure and financial timely reporting aligned to the accounting system, IFRS & HOADA requirements;
Perform a deep analysis of the financial reporting to highlight variances and identify corrective action plan for a good financial balance;
Oversee the preparation of financial statements in line with the reporting requirements.
Treasury & Cash Management
Direct and ensure effective cash flow management in alignment with MTN guidelines, suggest corrective actions in case of process deviations and escalate issues in a timely manner
Ensure management of cash and bank funds receipts and its approval
Responsible for approving and sanctioning the bank related vouchers, reconciliation statements etc, as applicable
Responsible for providing support to the treasury activities of the organization to ensure gain of returns on the corporate level investments
Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities

Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure staff motivation is high
Ensure skill transfer for staff development, motivation and business continuity
Ensure the team is led, motivated and rewarded to achieve high performance areas
Guide and direct suppliers and third parties in achieving Opco objectives
Identify staff training and development needs and implement necessary actions
Manage team (including recruitment, on-boarding, attrition)
Set goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress and maintain motivation
Set up appropriate structure to meet departmental management objectives
Provide an advisory function on governance and best practices in client experience
EDUCATION / BUSINESS DEGREE

Min BAC+5 in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent prefer Chartered Accountant
Post Graduate in Finance and/or relevant professional qualification (e.g., Chartered Accountant) (preferred)
Fluent in both English and French
WORK EXPERIENCE

Min 7 to 11 years of work experience in financial operations and reporting with at least 4 years experience in a management level within the finance department of a leading organization
Solid experience coordinating and managing financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and accounting for investments;
Experience in Treasury & cash management
Experience in Financial Operations & Reporting
Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous
CERTIFICATIONS

Certified Public Accountant (CPA or Chartered Accountant) (preferred)
