Activités
The Senior Tax Advisor is responsible for Tax Planning for TotalEnergies in the US (3 US tax groups). This role will be a Tax Business Partner for the various branches with a focus on Renewables and planning projects across the US businesses. Key functions will be to provide tax advice in support of US and global transactions, tax legislation monitoring / modelling, tax attribute management and support for global initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include:

High level decision making regarding tax research, planning, and modeling of tax implications with respect to internal reorganizations, acquisitions, and dispositions. Evaluate and recommend structures/alternatives for proposed transactions (mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, inter-company transfers, etc.).
High level decision making regarding research projects and drafting position papers in support of tax positions taken on federal and/or state returns, including tax controversy projects.
Support responses to information and document requests from IRS and state auditors.
Stay abreast of changes in the federal (and material state and international) tax laws to provide advices.
Contribute to high level analysis of material uncertain tax positions, ensure adequate documentation.
Reviewing cash tax forecast and projections from long-term plans and recommend tax mitigation strategies (ex: BEAT, Section 163(j), etc.).
Planning and research for issues and transactions that impact the US affiliates and the global effective tax rate.
Participate in the proposal of tax advice to upper management regarding IRS audit issues and proposed transactions involving US legal structures and investments.
Identifying cost saving opportunities in terms of tax optimization or process improvements.
Profil du candidat
Education/Experience:

BS/BBA in Accounting – CPA, Master’s Degree in Taxation or J.D. required
5+ years of US corporate tax experience with a CPA firm (Big 4 preferred), large law firm, in-house tax department of a major corporation, or a combination thereof.
Skills:

Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and execute complex initiatives.
Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
