Activités
The Senior Exploration Geoscientist is a key asset in the Exploration America Hub. They are assigned to an Exploration Team, involved in either Regional Synthesis, New Ventures, Portfolio Maturation or Operations follow up.



Technical Activities Include:

At Basin Scale:
Integrate and synthesize all relevant G&G data supporting play(s) definition.
Gather, integrate, and synthetize all relevant G&G data supporting play definition and characterization (well and seismic data, structural geology, sedimentology, geochemistry, reservoir & seal characterization, pressure regime, fluid type(s), etc.).
Perform basin synthesis studies with focus on the description / risking of the various components of petroleum system(s).
Investigate and propose new themes, new ideas and innovative approaches for the exploration of the Region/Basin he/she has been assigned to, from near-field opportunities to pure frontier exploration.
At Block Scale:
Carry out the inventory of leads and prospects.
Evaluate prospects, using classical mapping / modeling techniques, leading to resource assessments, as well as relevant uncertainty analysis and risk assessment.
Contribute to the definition of the optimal work program (drilling and data acquisition) to best explore and appraise the block.
Contribute to peer-assist and management reviews for the final decision for these business opportunities.
Know-how & Leadership Activities:
Capitalize from the various studies at various scales through the generation of reference documents, to reinforce TotalEnergies experience. Share study results with the company exploration community and the corporate management.
Ensure proximity technical coaching of junior geoscientists to help their development (up to 10% of time).
Able to engage and propose SME’s intervention
Generation/Promotion of New Ideas:
Create the space to challenge paradigms and develop new ideas.
Conceive sedimentological and prospect trap concepts even with scarce / imperfect data.
Promote new ideas / concepts into potentially drillable targets through peer challenge and proper communication.
Profil du candidat
Education/Experience:

Msc, PhD or Engineering Degree in Petroleum Geoscience.
Minimum 15 years' experience, in geoscience or exploration.
