At least a junior or senior undergraduate student obtaining a B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited university in Chemistry or a related science.
0-3 years of laboratory experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent computer skills.
Ability to comply with all safety regulations of the position.
Ability to work flexible schedule and weekends as needed.
Ability to meet physical requirements of the position.
Activités
Perform polymerization testing to support plant operations and development efforts in Polymers.
Arrange collection and delivery of samples with the Supervisor, Plant Support and plant personnel.
Keep the laboratory notebook and document results. Write project reports as assigned.
Work with other lab chemists to share responsibilities. Take responsibility for actions and seek to solve customer problems.
Service and maintain laboratory equipment, as much as technically possible, to ensure that it is operating at an optimum level.
Inform supervisor of requirements for refurbishing and replacing laboratory supplies and materials.
Contribute to the development of new methods and improvement of existing methods.
HSE responsibilities include: Understanding, supporting, and compliance with all site policies, procedures and regulations; conducting safety activities; completion of assigned HSE action items; and completion of regulatory and other required training.
Responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations


Contexte et environnement
TotalEnergies is looking for student who is studying Chemistry and has passion to work in the lab. The position will start in January 2025 and will end in August of 2025. The student must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours Monday thru Friday during the Spring semester and 40 hours during the summer. This co-op/internship is in TotalEnergies Polymers division located in La Porte, Texas.
