Endeavour Mining is looking to hire a Tax Manager for its Burkina Faso Operations. In the role, the successful candidate will need to be highly motivated, enjoy working in a fast paced environment and have experienced in dealing with multiple sites and local tax authorities.

Country Tax Managers (CTM) will assist the Group Tax Director in its mandate, while reporting to him. The CTM is acting as the primary point of contact for tax matters for in-country businesses and support functions.



ABOUT ENDEAVOUR MINING

Endeavour Mining is a premier intermediate gold producer, with a solid track record of operational excellence, project development and exploration in the highly prospective Birimian greenstone belt in West Africa. Endeavour operates 4 mines across Côte d’Ivoire (Agbaou and Ity) and Burkina Faso (Houndé, Karma), which produced 612koz at an All-In Sustaining Cost (AISC) of $744/oz in 2018.

In 2019, Endeavour expects production to increase to 615-695koz at an AISC of $760-810/oz, due to the completion of its Ity CIL construction in early Q2. In addition, its 5-year exploration program aims to discover 10-15Moz of gold by 2021 which represents more than twice the reserve depletion during the period.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Implementing and maintaining tax compliance processes designed by the Group to ensure accurate and timely indirect and direct tax calculations and payments that incorporate all the various legislative requirements of the countries in which the Corporation operates in
Monthly tracking and reporting through the development and implementation of detailed checklists and/or control sheets to ensure that all direct and indirect taxes returns in Burkina Faso are submitted and paid
Accountable for the technical reviews and assisting all entities in Burkina Faso in the completion of the tax filings in association with Corporation tax protocol
Drafting Technical Tax memorandums and policies
Implementing and maintaining tax protocol as a risk management tool to address potential cash flow impacts on the Corporation
Identification and impact assessment of all tax risks associated to Burkina Faso entities
Create an understanding of industry-wide audits and highlight exposures and non-compliance of these through designated country workshop/networking together with the finance teams
Alignment and validation of all taxation assumptions utilized in life of mine planning for Burkina Faso
Communicate relevant tax information to the Group Tax director, General Managers, Financial and Commercial Managers and any other relevant stakeholders
Review of projects, contracts and feasibility studies related to Burkina Faso to ensure compliance to current tax legislation
Regular independent reviews together with internal audit to ensure compliance to all required taxation policies and procedures
Implementing and maintaining a process of formal control during process of government taxation audits and facilitating the external audit process at the various entities in Burkina Faso
Other related projects

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

BAC + 4/5 minimum degree in Finance/Tax related discipline
CPA or equivalent desirable
Minimum 7 years’ experience in Tax or tax consulting
Minimum 2 years/ experience in mining
Demonstrated strong knowledge of accounting standards and government of Burkina Faso’s tax laws and regulations
In-depth knowledge in tax compliance French / English language skills essential
Working experience with pack office Microsoft
Experience working in multicultural environment
Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and build effective relationships and networks
Demonstrates strong conceptual skills, and be capable of developing lateral and practical solutions
Ability to respond to a changing work environment
The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time
