Academic Training and/or Years of Experience:

Higher University Studies: Statistics, Physical Sciences, Exact Sciences, Engineering, Data Analytics or similar.
Valuable previous experience in tasks involving Spanish Electricity Market fundamental analysis.
Team working.
Advanced English, minimum proven C1 level.
Valuable French


Technical and Behavioral Competencies:

Knowledge of the Spanish electricity sector, the structure and operation in the market.
Knowledge of OMIE & REE markets.
Calculation, analysis, and reliability capabilities in handling large amounts of data.
Analytical skills, programming skills (Excel, VBA, Python), ability to build models (regression models, time series, causality tests) and data visualization.
Expertise in business analytics tools such as PowerBI and PowerQuery for massive data retrieval and visualization.
Ability to manage databases, connection to API’s and different IT environments.
Analytical, creative and intelligence skills for the electricity market.
Capacity to work and deliver results working in team.
Proactivity, ability to evolve and curiosity.
Excellent oral and writing communication skills.
Activités
Data analysis and creation of daily/weekly/monthly reports on the main explanatory variables in the Spanish electricity market:

Analysis and presentation of the market players’ strategies on different market sessions of the Spanish Power industry.
Analysis and presentation of results, explanation of the main variables (prices, programs...).
Study and analysis of specific market situations (zonal constraints, technical constraints, un-availabilities...) and their impact in TGPM assets’ operation.
Implementation, operation, and maintenance of tools for market analysis and intelligence.
Analysis of competitive strategies and the behaviour of similar assets to the ones operated by TGPM.
Provide assistance in:

Elaboration of reference operation indexes of TGPM’s portfolio and similar KPI’s on the competitors’ side/overall Spanish market.
Valuation and proposal of continuous improvement of short-term strategies for the participation on the different market sessions and complementary ancillary services markets for different assets within TGPM’s portfolio.
Evaluate the parallel optimal operation of all assets in TGPM’s portfolio.
Elaboration of specific and ad-hoc business studies and analysis:

Participation in the development of operational procedures, adaptation to regulatory changes and their impact in the business.
Keep up date with legal regulations, market rules and REE operating procedures and any other applicable regulations.
Follow and fulfil with the list of tasks established with rigor, organization and professionalism.
Close coordination with Short-term Optimization and Portfolio Performance teams in Paris, to ensure consistency in methodologies, spread local market knowledge and sharing best practices. Interaction with Trading Analysis in Geneva to adapt existing analysis to the Spanish market.
