Position: Maintenance & Engineering Manager

Location: Goulamina, Mali

Reporting Relationship: General Manager Operations



Position Purpose:

As the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the technical excellence of our Goulamina site and plant. Your responsibilities include defining, developing, and continuously improving technical installations, New Product Introduction (NPI), and maintenance processes at LMSA Goulamina.



Key Responsibilities:

- Lead life-of-mine planning for all departments, focusing on asset management and refurbishment strategies.

- Control and allocate Capital Expenditure effectively.

- Daily maintenance planning and execution for all mine assets, ensuring optimal performance.

- Monitor and control critical stoppages, implementing action plans to prevent reoccurrence.

- Promote and ensure compliance with Safety & Health and Environmental policies and standards.

- Manage maintenance, repairs, and alterations to buildings, facilities, and utilities within the mine operational areas.

- Effectively allocate maintenance resources, manage backlogs, and ensure planned vs. unplanned work balance.

- Drive quality systems, approaches, and practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

- Expand mining infrastructure and activities, collaborating with local businesses for national industry development.

- Oversee contractor, supplier, and vendor management, promoting effective networking.



Qualifications and Experience:



- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering; Registered Engineer highly desirable.

- 10-12 years' experience in the mining industry with 5 years in operational management.

- Mobile & Fixed plant experience is a must.

- Computer literacy in Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, ERP, and MRPII packages (SAP, Ellipse, Pronto, Oracle, etc.).

- Experience in Francophone West Africa is an advantage.

- Strong experience in setting standards and procedures for maintenance and construction practices.

- Open-cut mining experience is essential.
