INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY NOTICE



Lithium Du Mali is seeking a qualified and experienced Internal Audit Specialist to join our team in Goulamina, Mali. As the Internal Audit Specialist, you will report directly to the Finance & Administration Manager and be responsible for managing and coordinating our internal audit and compliance function. This is a key role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls framework and identifying areas for improvement.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and maintain Lithium Du Mali's internal controls framework, including regular updates, testing, and reporting on internal controls effectiveness.

- Report on internal control deficiencies and areas requiring improvement, and develop and implement programs to address control deficiencies and ensure 100% compliance with internal controls.

- Maintain an up-to-date insurance register, including quarterly reporting of asset additions and retirements.

- Prepare and submit schedules for annual insurance renewals.

- Oversee the annual risk assessment program and update the risk registers accordingly.

- Review the quarterly compliance report for completeness and accuracy.

- Review and update internal control narratives as necessary.

- Perform and report on quarterly HR internal controls testing programs.

- Manage and maintain the quarterly internal review files for sign-off by the Finance & Administration Manager.

- Ensure adherence to governance practices and protocols, including Malian Tax Laws, OHADA, IFRS, and other Malian statutory requirements.

- Assist with audit inquiries and special investigations, both internal and external.

- Monitor and ensure adherence to internal controls for all processes across the site.

- Design, develop, and implement effective preventative and detective internal audit systems and controls.

- Ensure all legislative, regulatory, and statutory obligations are met.

- Conform to company policies and protocols and ensure compliance with all statutory and company obligations.

- Undertake any other responsibilities as reasonably required.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Degree in Accounting.

- Post-graduate qualification will be advantageous.

- At least 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience in an audit role.

- Strong knowledge of business workflows and internal control processes.

- Malian citizen fluent in French and English.
