A.P Maersk Cameroon is looking for a candidate to take up the role of an Inland First Mile Manager in Douala. This position holder will be Responsible for the successful execution of cargo delivery from the Port to intra city, intercity or hinterland (Inland First Mile) through the Transported By Maersk Models (TbM) namely Trucks, Barges, Rail, Air and LCL in both Cameroon and Gabon.

The role also involves planning and safely executing at lowest possible cost, while delivering on the customer promise, Ensuring the achievement of established business targets including capacities optimization, and Building a high performing team, while managing, coaching, and providing leadership.
This, including operations procedures supervision (that sticks to the existing regulations), Closely collaborate with other teams within Area/Region/global.

Key Responsibilities:
New and existing customer management (including 3P shipping lines).

Truck performance (cost/utilization).

Continuous improvement & optimization of TbM solutions (trucking, barge, rail, Air and LCL) in both locations.

Drive compliance & regulatory and HSSE adherence.

TbM operation basis security / IT standards.

Lease administration and getting Involved in contract management with vendors.

Overall stakeholder management of external partners

Develop talent pipeline.

Ensure the engagement of TbM teams within the Area and Maintain positive relationship while working closely with external partners.

Accountable for P&L, GP, EBIT, Cost to serve, Asset utilization, Customer Pipeline, and Combined KPI.

Ensure the Execution of TBM strategy in both countries.

Consulted on All M&A and JV decisions and the Changes to global Inland first Mile activities or TbM services offered.

Main Requirements:
+5 Years of experience in logistics, transportation, and operation management.

SWA Area Inland First Mile Market & Inter-modal knowledge.

Fluency in French and English is a Must.

Financial acumen – ability to read, interpret and act on P&L.

Proven track-record for leadership & team management, 2-3 years of experience in a managerial role.

Good knowledge of MS Package.

Strong skills for concise and precise reporting of activities

Self directed / entrepreneurial, and Team player.

Stakeholder management & collaboration in a matrix organization & project management skills.

Commercial mindset and Cultural openness

Strong communication & interpersonal skills, & Ability to develop strong customer relations.
