Job Title: Accounts Payable Accountant

Direct supervisor: Finance Superintendent



ROLE OVERVIEW:



The role of the Accounts Payable involves providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. Their role is to complete payments and control expenses by receiving payments, plus processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. A typical Accounts Payable job description also highlights the day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner.



TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Invoicing

· Ensure timely recording of all received invoices in Pronto Xi ERP.

· Review all received Invoices for accuracy (correct entity billed, correct Purchase orders).

· Distribute invoices received to end users for approval.

· Follow-up on approval status of Invoices with end users.

· Allocate and match all paid supplier invoices in Pronto ERP

Banking

· Periodically submit payment confirmations and remittance advices to suppliers on a timely manner, ensuring correct allocation of payments to invoices.

Reporting

· Perform reconciliation of all supplier accounts at each period end

· Perform review of Accounts Payable Ageing and prepare payment registers.

· Prepare and maintain the Invoice registers for all entities in Mali

Tax

· Review all invoices before recording to ensure correct tax treatment of invoices (WHT and VAT)

Procure to Pay

· Perform periodic reviews of orders received not invoiced and follow up with suppliers for invoicing.

· Track & report variances between supplier Invoices and Purchase Orders

ERP

· Participate in continuous improvement of ERP workflows related to accounts payable.

· Maintain the supplier master list in Pronto, ensuring vendor information is accurate and up to date.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Job Classification: According to the Collective Agreement of Companies and Enterprises
Geological and Hydrogeological Mining in the Republic of Mali

Duty Station: Goulamina
Date of entry into service: As soon as possible


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

At least 3+ years of experience in a mining or similar industry in a similar position.
Must have a finance degree.
Advanced Microsoft Excel
Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills with experience in a similar role.
Strong data entry skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Teamwork and collaboration and a strong work ethic.
Diplomacy, discretion, and tact, particularly when dealing with confidential information
Good experience of external and internal procedures in the functions of finance and purchasing
Fluent in French and English
