Description of Orange Ventures

Orange is a major mobile and internet player in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In order to develop its ability to detect innovative companies and to drive its stakes in the digital sphere, Orange has set up a dedicated structure: Orange Ventures, Orange's investment fund which aims to take minority stakes in startups that offer innovative solutions and disruptive technologies in the Group's business areas. It focuses on the emergence of future world tech champions, on the acceleration of innovation in the Middle East and Africa, and the support to new sustainable and responsible activities. It is one of the most active corporate funds in Europe and Middle-East with an office in Paris and Cairo.

Main activities

The role of the investment analyst will include, alongside the Partner in Cairo:

Monitoring innovation and opportunities
You are actively involved in monitoring the digital innovation market and innovation financing (incubators/ventures/peer or competitor strategic players).
As such, you may be asked to produce ad hoc studies, for example on technological innovations, sectors, investment activity, etc...

You identify investment opportunities based on Orange Ventures' selection criteria.
Analysis of investment targets
You identify, contact and meet startups relevant to the fund.
You participate in the evaluation of investment opportunities, particularly on strategic issues.
You contribute to the production of deliverables: presentation for investment committees, etc...
You participate in the investment decision at opportunity review meetings.

Skills and qualities required

4/5 years of higher education in a business or engineering school (or equivalent).
Passionate about innovation and the world of start-ups. Good knowledge of digital players / interest shown for new technologies and digital services.
Ability to analyze, synthesize, and restitute.
Taste for teamwork / good interpersonal skills.
Autonomy, reactivity, rigour.
Fluency in Office and fluent in English, French.
