PURPOSE
The Communication Associate will support the activities of the Communication Section to highlight UNICEF's activities and results in order to promote awareness, understanding, support and respect for the rights of children and women, UNICEF's priorities and programmes in Guinea.

How can you make a difference?
Under the direct supervision of the Communication Specialist, the Communication Associate will have the following tasks:

Follow up on administrative tasks and service providers
Organize and manage the documentation and multimedia productions of the Communication unit (monitoring of multimedia productions, archiving management in Share Point, Flikrs, We Share image bank).

Support administrative procedures related to field missions, official visits, national and international press travel.

Provide reports and action points from the Communications section meetings.

Database management
Organize and manage the documentation and multimedia productions of the Communication unit (lists of service providers, monitoring of multimedia productions, current and potential influencers and partners, archiving management in Share Point, Flickr and We Share).
Inventory, collect and organize data contributing to the monthly UNICEF Guinea newsletter. Follow up with the ICT section for the newsletter's online and wide distribution.
Participate and contribute to maintain and update contact lists and database of celebrities, influencers, partners for the country office.
Inventory, organize and manage the stock of UNICEF Guinea communication and visibility tools and items.
Provide a daily press review, relevant and widely shared with UNICEF Guinea teams.

Campaigns and special events
Support the organisation of special events and activities to promote the objectives of the country programme and generate public support.
Participate and contribute to the communication activities of the UN Country Team.

Multimedia production
Contributes to production of multimedia content to highlight UNICEF's activities and results (photos, videos, articles, press releases, human interest stories and other advocacy/information materials.
Participate in the proofreading and layout of various reports and case studies prepared within the framework of UNICEF Guinea's projects and activities, and ensure conformity with UNICEF's graphic standards and guidelines.

Social media
Support the production of digital content for the digital’s platforms, to be used on the UNICEF website and social networks, but also to be shared with the media.
Ensure constant improvement of published content and mobilising the digital community through regular monitoring. Provide a monthly report of results related to UNICEF Guinea's digital platforms (Google analytics, Facebook Meta, Hootsuite, etc.).
Anticipate and draft publications on social networks platforms related to activities organised in the country as well as news related to UNICEF's actions in Guinea.
Any other tasks identified and assigned by the supervisor.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by courses in Communication, Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, Journalism or Multimedia. An additional university degree or professional certificate in Communications or related area is an asset.
A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in administration, supporting communication, print and broadcast media, interactive digital media and/or publicity.
Work experience in an international organization or UN agency is desirable.
Good knowledge of design and creation software (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Pack office, etc).
Experience in communication, social media and production of multimedia content with internationals standards (graphic design, data-visualisation, photos, videos, animation, sound recording, interview, etc).
Good knowledge of photographic equipment, cameras, and multimedia production by mobile phone and/or DSLR.
Very good analytical and synthesis skills.
Very good communication skills, both oral and written.
Team player and solution oriented.
Fluency in French is required. Knowledge in English is required.
Knowledge of local Guinean languages is an asset.
Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Have previous experience with the UN system or international NGOs.
