Opportunité
We are looking for a commercially focused, driven, and experienced candidate to take up the role as Landside Transportation Product Manager - Reefer Cargo for Maersk in Southern Africa. In this role you will be responsible for the profitability and commercial aspects of all our refrigerated landside transportation offerings across South Africa and Daughter Countries*. You will be designing new products and corridors for our customers and driving delivery of our growth ambitions internally.

The ideal candidate has a strong experience within landside transportation and logistics in general, strong stakeholder management skills, and an acumen for business development and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible and accountable for the P&L of your landside transportation product family – Reefer Cargo - ensuring that we meet our ambitious targets.
Set the strategy for the product family and fully own the development of landside transportation products, including the pricing towards our customers in your area.
Business development within the landside transportation category – exploring opportunities and developing business cases to support future profitable growth and value for our customers.
Analyse and map market dynamics and opportunities, driving sustainable volume growth.
Identification of potential M&A opportunities.
Work closely with sales and participate in high-level customer engagements to understand their needs and establish products to serve those needs.
Selected tender management jointly with sales, and actively involved in selling and securing new business as well as customer retention.

Who we are looking for:
Degree in Logistics plus min 5 years in a role controlling large Perishable operation (Containerised and un-containerised) with demonstrated growth or if no qualification, min 8 years’ experience in such a role;
A market network (Customers/Suppliers) that is in touch with up-to-date market intelligence;
Translates customer needs and business opportunities into solutions;
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and set focus/direction;
Strong P&L experience, anticipates future product performance delivery and factors this into overall pricing strategy;
Strong analytical skills and business acumen;
Ability to distill complex information and translate highly complex matters into relevant commercial storyline;
Ability to challenge thinking and with strong reasoning and ‘buy in’ skills.
